Watch the Ftse

Ftse was the first of the major markets to break down so how it reacts to Draghi's conference will be a key indication

In contrast the Dax has barely broken below the 10 dema

  2. CR is a trusted friend. He will do you right!! Danny revised the Disqus somehow, and there is an attempt at a fix. Revise your profile "notify" to kill deluge of emails. I'm Ian, Wyle, and ETX. lol

    1. The change Dan made on his site was simply that he installed ("updated to") the new Discus system called Discus 2012. I did it for about an hour on my site and the locals jumped on me with both feet. So I switched it back to the style we've all grown to know and love. Other than that, he made no changes that would help control the kind troll. He's had the tools to do that all along but refuses to use them. It's that simple. Unless he's decided to ban the troll on his site, something he could have done on day one, nothing will change.

He might have installed the new look out of frustration and maybe to try to freshen up the joint in order to calm down the locals, but it's not much different than re-decorating the neighborhood bar and then letting the same clientele come in and start crapping on the floor. I wish him the best, but the mess he's got over there is 100% of his own making, insofar as that he has not only tolerated it, but encouraged it with his masterful lack of stewardship and caring for his 'good people'.

  4. Maybe we can corral the serious TA and investing crowd, as the potential implosion of Danny's venue looms. If you got here, stay tuned! Again, thank you! CR.

  5. Haha. CR you might be in for a deluge buddy. I sure hope so but we all know that the Wagamuffin has posted here many times already, even going so far as to impersonate that dear soul DKNOX. You've shown him about all the courtesy you can manage and we know it makes you angry when that arse shows up here. If you've got a troll gun with this particular commentary setup I urge you to get it at the ready. Make it one head shot and you'll be off to the races. The good folks will show up here, so just shoot the rest like I did (and will continue to do) and your comments section will explode. I'll be more than happy to participate as long as I don't see that bastid or any of his supporters here. He has a couple.

Continued success mate. Here's lookin' at ya.

    1. Hey AR thanks for the kind words.I am flattered people would consider my blog for posting on,but Im not sure how practical it is.I dont really have any more desire to be chatroom host than you did so I have suggested Dino's place might be better and people can actually upload charts there.I know you and Dino haven't always seen eye to eye but he's a pretty straight guy as well as being a good trader.

    2. My apologies CR, but this is likely to be the longest post I've ever dropped off at your place. It won't become a habit.

I'd have to agree bud, I don't think this particular format is very practical for the type of chatting our friends will want to do. They won't use 'my' blog because I banned SJ from there when he showed up one day accusing me of "manipulating my readers". Just another drunken rant probably but he knows the rules there... "don't start shyte". Not only did he start it, he kept it up. So as promised, I pulled his plug. And the way he's behaving these days, I'm more than satisfied that was a good call. But as a result his admirers don't come to my site either. C'est la vie, lol.

I'm not sure if Dino and I wouldn't see eye to eye 'today', but the switch was flipped back on the day he started talking down to me as if I'd started trading 2 years ago. I have a difficult time putting up with getting my face scratched by some youngster who isn't even old enough to have experienced 10% interest rates, let alone 19% mortgage rates. Does experience by one's elders not count for anying to these punks? God, I'd have cherished someone like that to help me out when I was their age. You and I were trading when guys like that were nothing more than a twinkle in their dad's eyes. So needless to say, I didn't particularly like Dino shooting down any analysis I did that included ratio work. "You can't trade ratios!" What? I beg your pardon, have you never heard of currency pairs Dino? What do you think those are?

Ratio analysis is probably the single most valuable type of analysis there is. If somebody told Dino an unknown stock had risen $4 yesterday the first thing he'd ask is "yeah, but what percent was that?". And that would be a great question because by asking it he'd be looking for a ratio... "up $4 compared to what"? So he uses ratios every day and apparently isn't even aware that he does. I shouldn't flog that dead horse I guess because in fairness to him maybe he's seen the light by now.

Basically, it boils down to the fact that I have a pretty difficult time dealing with 30 year olds who've been trading just long enough to think they're a cut above the rest. I was there once too, but I wasn't an ass about it. That was half a lifetime ago so the odds that some 'bantam' rooster is going to peck away at me and get away with it are pretty slim.

No, if I was going to go back to those days I'd gravitate towards Col's place. That was a pretty bad deal all around because Mike is one great guy. But then he's got the problem of the local disk jockey that I just can't put up with. And that disk jockey is very valuable to Col, so again... C'est la vie... it's just best that I keep my mouth shut and vacate the premises, so that's what I did. It seems there's one attacker in every crowd and Rooster attacks are just as aggravating as troll attacks in my world.

It's all good CR. You and I have a whole lot of friends in the blogosphere and we can visit many of them on their own blogs. Others don't have their own blogs but they know where to find us. But you and I have gotten along about as well as any two people I know. We understand each other's humour probably better than any two other people out there. The best part is that I know where to find you and you know where to find me.

Someday we'll tip a pint together. Or wine... you said you're a wine guy. I'll drink 12 bottles of beer and you can drink 12 barrels of wine. And we'll laugh our guts out.

      Keep smilin' my friend.

    3. Hey AR entirely understood why you fell out with Dino and it wasn't a criticism.

I like wine AND beer...and good pipe tobacco :-) Would be cool if we ever did get to meet up,especially if it was in your beautiful country.i have visited NW America and just love that kind of scenery.

BTW a friend of yours dropped by with a message for you.It went straight in the span bin with his other 65 messages LOL

      All the best Bud

    4. No worries CR, I certainly didn't take it as a criticism. That was a long time ago and I'm sure Dino is a great guy. I hold no grudges against him really, but once a person shows his true colors I have an incredibly difficult time believing those colors are ever going to change. That could be a flaw in my own character too, but I have little time in my life for conflict. I need to get work done.

Yeah, the NW of the USA is spectacular. I really like Montana, Idaho and Washington. Just north of there is the Canadian version. Without wanting to offend our American friends, I'll just say that the Canadian version might be considered a bit more rugged and a bit more vast. The Alberta Rockies are just a freakin' mind blower there's no getting away from that. But in BC there are many mountain ranges with vast valleys in between. It's in those valleys where there are so many incredibly gorgeous big lakes, surrounded by mountains in some places, farmland in others, orchards, wineries, forests, etc. All encased in incredibly beautiful and warm summer weather. In the winter though, all that is negated and Alberta is just as good. I just love BC in the summertime, although Alberta still holds a whole lot of advantages over it in some aspects... like the economy, the good government and the lack of debt (incredible fiscal health). Alberta and BC are both beautiful but in different ways. BC has the lakes and Alberta doesn't. That's what I like so much... those lakes, the gorgeous scenery for boating and all that goes with it. This is near Penticton.

I can't imagine which friend you're referring to but I trust your judgement :-)

    5. Nice view...is that your garden ? !

      Delete
    6. Nope, but I've been there. Penticton is in the southern Okanagan valley. Believe it or not it often gets to 40 degrees C. there in the summertime. Usually in the mid to high 30's, so boating and drinking cold beers is a favourite pastime there.

  6. Just checking the scenery and to say hi CR. Like your site and would be interested posting here occasionally if all is OK with that. Cheers!

  7. Hi Guys (and Gals) All are very welcome to post here but I don't know that Google blogs are well setup to be chatrooms.Plus I dont have any inclination to be a chatroom moderator.

Just a thought but Dino's Blyve chatroom might be more appropriate .I post there myself, there are no trolls and its a small roo with some friendly people and good traders.Im sure Dino would be very welcoming

  16. Hey SJ....that is good.
Looks as if Shit-Eric is the main poster on Dan's board today....what a troll fest !
Wagner has already dropped in here and left his calling card but I mopped it up :-)

Agreed AR's might be the best place then.I know he is not posting so much lately but that shouldnt matter.DK and Papa Boule and GIB post there quite frequently already but I guess AR would have to unblock you ...I'll leave that discussion to you guys lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. SJ you can post links to charts but there is no facility to upload them directly into the comments section

  18. No. I don't need to be unblocked. I am drifting away anyways. I would post here though. I like your place.

Wow. Am I in the wrong place?

And this on a day with key market action (not to say huge bullish reversals and breakouts to not get the trolls frothing).

    What a coincidence.

    Or am I just jaded?

Or did you say something special on Dan's blog. lol

CR, you've got to be careful. ;-)

  25. LOL no HighRev...a lot of people are leaving Dan's blog (for obvious reasons) and were thinking about coming here instead.I am flattered but not sure how practical a suggestion it is ....

BTW it was 45 comments but some had to go in the spam bin.No prizes for guessing which arsehole they were from :-)
